Inspired Ribbons was founded
over 20 years ago, when Don Hall envisioned a "covenant"
ribbon product while sleeping. Don and his wife created
the first batch of Bible ribbon markers after their personal
financial resources had dwindled to $8.00. The couple took
the Bible ribbon markers and set out for the local Christian
bookstore.
The products received an enthusiastic response and the Halls
created more products for the following day. Each buyer
was excited to see what the couple had to offer, and Inspired
Ribbons had begun and grew to include three large Christian
distributors: Appalachian, Spring Arbor, and Riverside.
The original color provided the inspiration for additional
colors and correlating Scriptures reminding the couple that
this was God's provision, not a clever scheme of their own
invention.
Merchandising
Techniques
The Halls
have learned from years of experience that this product
will merchandise itself with little effort on the part of
store personnel. When this style of Bible ribbon marker
was originally new to the public, if a sample of Inspired
Ribbons was placed in a counter display Bible, the beauty
of its vivid colors would attract the curiosity of the potential
buyer. When clerks presented the Inspired Ribbons to their
Bible-buying customers, the people would usually add the
ribbons to their purchase because of the product's minimal
cost.
Some customers choose it for its function as a reference
aid and some buy it for adornment. Salespeople might mention
that this is a great gift item for any occasion because
it can be included in a greeting card and it requires no
additional postage. When stores place a counter display
unit in the bible section or checkout area, they have great
results.
The Halls are proud to share with you this true story about
Inspired Ribbons.
They know that when you have little in the way of material
resources, doing his will and trusting in our Father, he
will multiply what is given, just as he did with the loaves
of bread and fish.
